Cyber English 1 (Cohorted Honors and College Prep)
Cyber English is a Common Core course that examines the world of English through a lens of technology. The course focuses on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and technology. In it, students will take multiple laps in each major writing genre: narrative, inform and explain, argument, poetry, and multi-genre. They read two major core works (The House on Mango Street and Romeo and Juliet), at least two book club books of their choice, and multiple self-selected books to build up their literacy skills. Cyber students explore the world of technology through projects that support their growing technical education as well as their advancing literacy. This course is a requirement for graduation.

CFT-Cybersecurity
The purpose of the Careers, Finance, and Technology class is to assist students in creating a college, career, and life plan for success as they learn critical financial and digital literacy skills. Following the creation of a life plan, students will explore various careers and post-secondary education and training aligned with their career choice. Students will also learn financial literacy skills as they create a personal budget based on the average salary of their chosen career. Finally, students will explore the Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways available at their school and learn to use technology to support lifelong learning as well as college and career success. Digital literacy skills are embedded throughout the course. This course is a requirement for graduation.

Cyber Literacy 1
A hands-on curriculum that builds a strong cyber foundation for high school students. The course introduces students to cyber by blending robotics, programming, and elements of liberal arts. Students learn about the opportunities, threats, responsibilities, and legal constraints associated with operating in cyberspace. Throughout the course, students learn the basics of programming and networking as well as developing the 5C’s into a project-based curriculum. Cyber Literacy lays a foundation for further exploration into STEAM and cyber-related topics. This course satisfies the Digital Literacy graduation requirement and fulfills the A-G requirement for College-Preparatory Elective (G).

Cyber Literacy 2
This course prepares students to take the CompTIA IT Fundamentals exam, an industry-standard certification. Topics include Cybersecurity essentials, IT Fundamentals, networking basics, as well as Windows and Linux administration. Students also form teams to train for and participate in the national CyberPatriot competition.

Cyber Innovations
This is the third course in the Magnolia Cybersecurity Institute Pathway. The material covered in this course will build upon IT Fundamentals, Robotics, and Windows Security (Cyber Literacy 1) and Networking / Cisco Fundamentals, LINUX OS, and Programming (Cyber Literacy 2). Students will use previous knowledge to create new technology to showcase their ability to innovate with technology.

Cyber Mentoring
The final course for the Cybersecurity pathway. This course will allow students to showcase their knowledge and skills with cyber students entering the pathway. This course will be beyond a typical “T.A.” course and focus on fostering a positive learning environment in the classroom and onto the workplace. Understanding the role of a mentor and leader in various environments. Utilizing teamwork, mentoring, and skills-based knowledge to lead a new generation into a safer digital world.
