Dear AUHSD families,
As you know, our district takes pride in creating authentic partnerships with families because we understand how valuable family and community engagement is and that parents should be at the table when making important decisions. As we embark on another Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) season, we invite you to be a part of this very important process. The district is committed to significant and purposeful engagement of parents, students, educators, and all other educational partners in the development of the LCAP and the budget process. At AUHSD we see the LCAP development process as an opportunity to tell our story, highlight accomplishments, reflect, and gain comprehensive insights from our educational partners. It is vital that the LCAP is planned with intentionality, and connects us with our students, families, and community in order to reach real results. The LCAP is the district’s three-year plan for how it aligns LCFF funding to AUHSD’s Mission, Vision, and Career Preparedness Systems Framework. This robust process allows the district to gain comprehensive insight into how education can best support the needs of our students and school community. The LCAP development, organization, and planning is a unifying process that involves significant and purposeful engagement with our educational partners.
If you would like to learn more about this process and how your voice can be heard, please join us on January 24th at 6:00 PM in the La Palma room, for a parent orientation, which will walk you through the process of participating in the LCAP development. The series of LCAP meetings will follow shortly.
Please see the attached flyer for more details.
Thank you,
Araceli Chavez
Family and Community Engagement Manager
